The 23-year-old has once again been excluded from Ernesto Valverde’s squad to face Real Sociedad in La Liga today – the eighth consecutive occasion he has been left out.

With aspirations of making Spain’s World Cup squad this summer, Deulofeu is desperate to leave the Camp Nou in order to get regular game time and has set his sights on a move to Italy.

He impressed during a loan spell at Milan in the second half of last season and had been hopeful of a Rossoneri return.

However, the Italian sports news outlet say that outcome is unlikely as the Diavolo already have enough attacking players in their squad.

Napoli have also been linked with the former Everton man, but with the Partenopei on the verge of signing Simone Verdi from Bologna their priorities currently lie elsewhere.

Instead, it could be Inter who emerge as the most likely destination for Deulofeu. Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio is reported to be in Barcelona to discuss the signing of Rafinha and may also express an interest in the attacking midfielder.

According to Sky, Deulofeu would be available on an initial loan deal with an obligation to sign him permanently at a later date.
