According to CalcioMercato.it, the Italian international has been on Inter’s radar for some time, and the club are now ready to make their move ahead of what promises to be a busy summer.

Vicario’s valuation of between €15 million and €20 million is considered well within Inter’s reach, and the Nerazzurri are determined to move quickly before rival clubs can enter the race.

Vicario ready to succeed Sommer at Inter

The signing would signal the end of an era at the club, with Yann Sommer expected to remain but transition into a backup role.

The Swiss international has been a reliable and high-quality presence since joining the club, but the Nerazzurri’s hierarchy have decided the time is right to plan for the long term with a younger option between the posts.

Vicario has established himself as one of the Premier League’s more dependable goalkeepers since joining Tottenham and is considered ready to step up to a leading role at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

With Italy’s goalkeeping debate set to intensify in the wake of the World Cup elimination, a move to Inter would also keep him in contention for the national team setup under whoever takes charge of the Azzurri.

  1. “step up”? I am not sure about that. I think
    the EPL>>Seria A with respect.
Vic is a good shot stopper but his distribution and command of the box are questionable at best.

  2. Hope it’s a smokescreen for a reliable keeper. Vicario is not Inter material and is almost 30 years old!
