No team in any of Europe’s top five divisions have conceded fewer goals than Inter so far in the 2032-24 season, and no other goalkeeper in those leagues has kept more clean sheets than Nerazzurri summer signing Yann Sommer.

In Serie A, Inter have let in just seven goals from 16 matches. That figure is less than half of the number of goals conceded by Premier League leaders Arsenal (15).

In France, meanwhile, Francesco Farioli’s Nice have conceded the fewest goals in Ligue 1 (9), while Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga and Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid in LaLiga have both let in 12 so far this season.

For comparison within Italy, Napoli had conceded 13 goals from their opening 16 games of the Serie A season on their way to the title last time out. The Partenopei ended the campaign with a total of 26 goals against.

Inter and mainstay goalkeeper Yann Sommer have also kept the most clean sheets across Europe’s top five divisions in 2023-24 with 11 from 16 games.

Only one other goalkeeper across the entire continent has kept the same number of clean sheets, Walter Benitez of PSV, as recently pointed out by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
