Inter know that an important sale is needed in the next 12 months and they’ve decided that Denzel Dumfries will be the man to depart, reports detail.

The 26-year-old Dutch wing back is currently in Qatar with the Netherlands national team, competing for the World Cup under Louis van Gaal. Dumfries has featured heavily under Simone Inzaghi this season but has struggled to put in consistent performances on the pitch, something that was visible in the Netherlands’ World Cup opener against Senegal.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Inter need to generate funds at some point in the next 12 months and so are prepared to sell a first team regular to navigate their choppy financial waters. The player they’re hoping to sell is Dumfries, who is currently valued at around €40m.

The Nerazzurri are hoping that the 26-year-old shines at the World Cup in order to advertise his qualities on the world stage. The best case scenario for the Milanese club would be to agree a sale in January and keep him until the end of the season.

There are no shortage of suitors for Dumfries; in the summer Bayern Munich were concretely interested and Chelsea have also shown interest in the past, looking to include him in the Romelu Lukaku deal.

  1. Sell Dumfries and buy whom? There is no other better right back at the moment and the system will only flourish with a good one. So that doesn’t make sense. Gaglia, Correa and other misfits have to hit the road first.

  2. Inter are clearly a dumb team…they managed to replace Hakimi, but they suffered in the process…
They amount of talent they have lost in 2 seasons is something…they won’t win the league anymore and they are reducing the quality of Serie A😠😡
