Multiple reports in Italy claim Inter‘s proposed deal to sign Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic is off.

The Serbia international had undergone his medical with the Nerazzurri last week, but his entourage raised the salary request in their meeting with Inter directors.

Now, according to several sources in Italy, including La Gazzetta dello Sport and Calciomercato.com, Inter have retired from the race to sign the talented central midfielder.

The Nerazzurri had agreed on a permanent €15m deal with Udinese plus 20-year-old midfielder Giovanni Fabbian who had also undergone his medical with his new club.

Inter director Piero Ausilio spoke to reporters on Tuesday night, confirming that Samardzic and his entourage had changed their requests.

The midfielder’s father dismissed agent Rafaela Pimenta bringing a new representative to the meeting with the Serie A giants and Samardzic’s transfer to Inter has now collapsed.

The 21-year-old has resumed training with Udinese but is currently training separately from the group.
