Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has revealed the Nerazzurri are ‘currently not able to invest’ in Sandro Tonali, who seems set for a move to rivals Milan.
Reports in Italy claimed Tonali was Inter-bound for weeks, but Milan have since surpassed the Nerazzurri and although the Italy international looks set for a move to San Siro, it’s now to the Rossoneri.
Ausilio claimed Inter never entered talks with Massimo Cellino’s Brescia and can’t afford to sign the youngster right now.

“Inaccurate things have been said. It can’t be said that we had the player in our hands without even having started negotiations with the club,” Ausilio told Sky Sport Italia.
“We have always admired Tonali but Inter are currently not able to make an investment of that kind."
Milan are due to sign him on loan for €10m with option to buy for a further €15m plus €10m in bonuses.
Radja Nainggolan has returned from one season on loan at Cagliari but has been linked with a return to Sardinia.
“He’s an Inter asset, he still has two years left on his contract. Today, he went to the retreat and made himself available to the coach and we will evaluate him.
“I don’t exclude that he can stay. He has great qualities.”
Ausilio confirmed Inter have opened talks with Roma over Aleksandar Kolarov.
“We are negotiation with Roma and with the player,” he said. “Things are being carried out transparently, we can say this much.
“He’s not an Inter player yet because there’s still a lot to do.”
That deal is expected to be worth just under €2m.
