Inter are reportedly ready to reward Matteo Darmian with a two-year extension to his current contract.

The versatile defender is tied to the club until the end of the season and there is already an option to extend for one more year.

However, Tuttosport and Tuttomercatoweb claim that the club is eager to lock him down for a longer period all the way to June 2026.

The player turns 34 next month and recently scored his second goal for Italy at senior level, eight years after the only previous occasion.

Darmian has become a key figure for Simone Inzaghi, as he can play as a right-back, a left-back, in central defence or in a more advanced role.

Since coming to Inter from Parma initially on loan in 2020 and then permanently for €3.3m, Darmian has experienced a second wave of career success, mirroring the start he had at Torino and Manchester United.
