According to various reports, Inter are continuing to lay the groundwork to sign Iran international Mehdi Taremi as a free agent from FC Porto next summer.

The striker had already been in negotiations with both Inter and Milan a few months ago, but the asking price had put them both off.

This is because they knew his contract was going to expire in June 2024 and they considered the demands to be excessive in those circumstances.

Taremi will also be 32 years old by next summer, but is still banging in the goals for FC Porto this season, netting five and assisting four in 22 competitive games.

That includes two goals and two assists in just six Champions League matches.

While there are other clubs interested in picking up Taremi as a free agent, these reports point towards Inter being the favourites, thanks to the work they have been doing for weeks behind the scenes.
