Multiple reports in Italy claim Inter and Barcelona remain in talks for Franck Kessié, who is unhappy with his playing time at Camp Nou.

The former Milan midfielder was linked with a return to the Stadio Meazza in January, but a proposed swap deal with Marcelo Brozovic did not materialise.

However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Il Corriere dello Sport, the two clubs are continuing negotiations that could see the Croat move to Barcelona and Kessié return to Serie A.

Both papers claim Kessié expected more playing time in his first season in Catalunya and according to Il Corriere dello Sport, the ex-Milan and Atalanta midfielder wants to return to Serie A.

Inter would only sign Kessié in a swap deal for Brozovic, a deal which could give relief to both clubs’ finances.

According to Gazzetta, Inter President Steven Zhang has promised Inzaghi midfield reinforcement for next season with a complete player who combines technique and physicality. Therefore, Kessié would be the ideal candidate for the role.
