Inter are continuing their negotiations with Genoa to take Felipe Caicedo on loan and reunite him with his former Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi.

They had hoped to get the deal done today and bring the Ecuadorian forward in for his medical tests, but the matter has been delayed again.

According to Sportitalia and Gazzetta dello Sport transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, the clubs continued their discussions today and Caicedo is pushing hard for the move to San Siro.

The 33-year-old was signed from Lazio over the summer for €2m, but between injuries, poor form and the ever-changing roster of coaches, has not made much of an impact at Genoa.

Caicedo played only 10 games between Serie A and the Coppa Italia, for a total 339 minutes of football.

He managed to contribute one goal and three assists for his teammates.

Inzaghi has always appreciated Caicedo for his ability to come off the bench and shake things up, often scoring decisive late goals.

The striker found the net 33 times with 15 assists in 137 appearances at Inzaghi’s Lazio.

Inter are the reigning Italian Champions and current leaders, in case you aren’t aware. And literally just won a trophy earlier this month.

Caicedo has scored more than once against your club, I guess that makes you average then.
