Mehdi Taremi has agreed personal terms with Inter ahead of a free transfer in the summer and Porto have been officially informed of the ongoing negotiations.

The 31-year-old Iranian striker’s contract expires with the Portuguese club at the end of this season and a new deal won’t be signed, making this his last six months at the club. He’s done well since his arrival in 2020, scoring 86 goals and providing 53 assists in 171 games.

Taremi has agreed to sign a three-year contract with Inter, worth around €3m net per season plus add-ons. He was on the verge of joining rivals Milan in the summer before a deal collapsed at the final hurdle.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Inter have already formally written to Porto to inform them of the ongoing negotiations with Taremi, making it clear that they expect to welcome the striker on a free transfer in the summer.

All that remains for the 31-year-old at this point is to carry out his medicals with the club and put pen to paper on his contract.
