Inter have confirmed that former captain Samir Handanovic has taken on a new role as head coach of the club’s under-17 side for the 2024-25 season.

The long-term former Nerazzurri goalkeeper continued working with Inter after his retirement at the end of the 2022-23 season, initially as a goalkeeper scout for the first team and youth sides.

New Inter coaching role for Handanovic

He will now take on a new role as head coach of the U17 team as part of his coaching development.

The Nerazzurri have also confirmed that Simone Fautario will lead the club’s U15s for the upcoming season. Juan Solivellas Vidal will take charge of the U16s, and Benito Carbone will be the head coach of the U18s.

The 40-year-old played 11 seasons in San Siro between 2012 and 2023

While playing, Handanovic won the Serie A title in 2020-21, in a season where he played 37 league matches, as well as two Coppa Italia titles in 2022 and 2023 under current coach Simone Inzaghi.
