Inter have confirmed that Robin Gosens suffered a dislocated shoulder after his acrobatic goal against Lazio.

The 28-year-old German wing back scored a vital goal for the Nerazzurri in the 83rd minute of their clash with the Biancocelesti, allowing them to take a 2-1 lead with less than 10 minutes left to play. Simone Inzaghi’s side closed out their win with a Lautaro Martinez goal a few minutes later.

Gosens acrobatically jumped to meet Romelu Lukaku’s floated cross, his left foot guiding the ball past Ivan Provedel, but he fell awkwardly and was immediately seen clutching his shoulder in agony. He was quickly replaced by Stefan de Vrij after it became apparent that he couldn’t continue.

Inter released a statement today, confirming that Gosens had suffered a dislocated shoulder, which was treated by the club’s doctors in the dressing room.

The injury could spell the end of the German’s season, with recovery times possibly taking up to six weeks in bad cases.
