Inter have officially confirmed that Gabriel Barbosa has joined Benfica on loan with option to buy.

The Brazilian striker, known as Gabigol, joined the Nerazzurri from Santos last season for a fee close to €30m.

However, he couldn’t break into the side under Frank de Boer, Stefano Pioli or Stefano Vecchi and didn’t convince Luciano Spalletti in pre-season.

Today he accepted a loan move to Benfica, and the Beneamata have officially confirmed that the deal has gone through.
