There are some fitness concerns for Inter after Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolò Barella limped off during the game against Monza.

The Nerazzurri were leading 2-1 at the U-Power Stadium with goals from Matteo Darmian and Lautaro Martinez.

Calhanoglu is causing the most worries, as he called to the touchline to be substituted immediately.

According to initial reports from Sky Sport Italia, the Turkey international midfielder was struggling with a groin issue as he made way for Kristjan Asllani.

Only a few minutes later, Barella was seen hobbling away from the field, replaced by Roberto Gagliardini.

It is a worry for Simone Inzaghi, especially ahead of a packed fixture list, as Inter must play Parma in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday evening.

Then there’s Hellas Verona in Serie A next Saturday before the Italian Supercup clash with rivals Milan on January 18.

Marcelo Brozovic is already on the treatment table with a thigh injury and therefore Inzaghi has limited midfield options.
