Inter have been left anxious after Bosnia coach Faruk Hadzibegic announced that Edin Dzeko had suffered a back injury in training.

The 37-year-old Nerazzurri striker left to join Bosnia for this international break but did not feature in their 3-0 win over Iceland, remaining on the bench for the entirety of the 90 minutes.

Dzeko has featured prominently under Simone Inzaghi at Inter this season, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Hadzibegic’s announcement that Dzeko suffered a back injury in training has caused concern in the Inter camp, wary of losing another player to injury.

Defender Milan Skriniar is already sidelined with a more serious back concern and the hope is that the Bosnian striker only suffered a minor issue.

Dzeko has proven himself an important part of the Nerazzurri squad this season, providing some reliability in attack as both Romelu Lukaku and Joaquin Correa fail to shine in Lombardy.
