According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are close to reaching an agreement with Paulo Dybala over a free move in the summer.

The Argentinean’s contract runs out in June and Juventus have already informed their star that they won’t offer him an extension. Several clubs in Europe have been linked with securing his services, from Atletico Madrid to Tottenham Hotspur, but according to La Gazzetta, Inter are leading the race for La Joya.

A new meeting between the striker’s entourage and the Nerazzurri reportedly took place last week and Dybala seems more and more convinced to join Juventus’ rivals in 2022-23.

The Argentinean feels betrayed by his club and is unwilling to leave Italy. Inter will offer him less money than what he gets in Turin, but a central role in the project led by Simone Inzaghi. Dybala is on a €7m-a-year deal at the Allianz Stadium, but Inter will only offer him €6m per season, plus add-ons.

The Nerazzurri still need to free up wages before putting a concrete offer on the table, but Dybala seems determined to join the Nerazzurri as a free agent in the summer.

Arturo Vidal, Matias Vecino, Alexis Sanchez and Stefan de Vrij are expected to leave, making room for Dybala and allowing Inter to make him one of the highest earners at the club with Marcelo Brozovic and Lautaro Martinez.

  1. Not a fan of this deal, he has undoubted talent but his application… but I said the same thing about Hakan and he’s come in and worked hard, stayed fit, and looks a bargain!

  2. @Interello Hakan has looked a bargain? He’s been cold most of the season with a few good performances here and there. Worth > 5 million an year? Not a chance

  3. As a Juve fan, I have to say I am disappointed. Dybala has been injured a lot and the club let him go. I understand if he is a bit upset, but to join Inter is a finger up to the fans as well as the management. He could join Milan, PSG, Barca or any number of Premier League clubs.

  4. This will end up badly for dybala I really hope he reconsiders this. What a fool if he signs with inter.

  5. This will end up badly for dybala I really hope he reconsiders this. What a fool if he signs with inter.

  6. If he pick up less injuries with Inter, it will imply that Juve’s medical staff is in trouble. This move might unveil something that people seem to overlook that will help Juve understand why they have more injured players than others.

  7. Paper talk. If he goes to broke Inter, it’ll be on the same money and they can’t afford him. I expect to see him in the Premier League.

  8. If Inter can release Sanchez, that’s Dybala’s wages covered so getting him on a free transfer and with him being younger is not a bad deal provided he can stay fit. The only concern is that this deal may come with a huge signing-on fee.

  9. If Dybala scampers to Inter it only reinforces the fact that the club made the right choice. It shows he was never dedicated to the jumper nor the fans, even though he was given the number 10 and made Vice Captain. He was only ever interested in getting more money for sub-par performances, poor discipline and lack of match fitness. What Inter will find out is that he never performs on the big stage, when it really matters, and he lacks the discipline and maturity to be a top footballer. It will be a waste of whatever money they may end up paying. The only reason he doesn’t want to go abroad is that he knows he will struggle in the EPL. Xavi doesn’t want him at Barca and even PSG are not making a run for him. Now that Juve has sown up a top 4 spot, he should not be made to play any more games at the expense of game time for some of our younger players.

  10. Agreed with Frankie, but Inter have no other forward options, especially for a link up player. In any case, this desperate move will disturb the locker room.

  11. Good luck.
He will choke in the big matches in CL and be a Injury prone half og the season.
Soulé should be his heir in Juve.

  12. Agree with Frankie. I get the idea that Inter have issues up front but Dybala isn’t the solution. Sad to say he’s past it and is very injury prone. For the money, it’s not a great return rate. He peaked the season he hit 2 past Barca and has been in steady decline since then.

  13. What Juve will found out when Dybala succeeds at Inter, is that Dybala was always a 3-5-2 player.

From now on he will have a midfield that actually moves around the pitch from time to time, and sometimes they will even support the attack. I know, crazy football according to the dinosaur coach.

  14. Marotta 2.0 but fine with me if we get better. If that meant Mo Salah then we would have upgraded. If we get Nunez then an upcoming player. We do not necessarily have to replace like for like if if meant we change system but here is where I see the problem. I don’t have great confidence that our directors will get the people we need and my last concern is Allegri. I will not hate Dybala if he goes to Inter as I have always said their are two sides to every story. Agnelli did not have the respect to attend the meeting and break the news to Paulo man to man. I remember when Del Piero was not extended and the same unprofessional practice was conducted. Dybala is not Del Piero but still after serving 7 years at the club it could have been handled better even though he messed up as well.

  15. Well said, Frankie.
Although I won’t jump on these rumors yet. We really don’t know where he will go.

I’m just happy that he will leave.

  16. Capello

Why is it a desperate move? top player on a free transfer. And Inter are hardly desperate, look how many goals Inter scored and compare to the rest of the keague. And why would he disturb the Lockerroom ? He has Argentine players at Inter. He will play alongside his buddy Lautaro. Don’t write nonsense.

  17. Louch,

The only fool is you. Inter won the Scudetto last season and is competing for it this season, while juve are 4th both seasons. A step up move for Dybala.
