Inter are stepping up their negotiations with PSV Eindhoven for wing-back Denzel Dumfries, hoping to do a deal for €15m plus bonuses.

The 25-year-old has long been their number one target for the right flank, left bare by Achraf Hakimi’s move to Paris Saint-Germain.

His contract runs to June 2023, but the Dutch international has made it clear he wants to leave this summer and has not been training with his teammates.

According to Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullá, negotiations are progressing rapidly and the PSV asking price is €20m.

Inter hope they can clinch a deal for €15m plus performance-related bonuses and add-ons.

Dumfries has also been linked with Everton.

The Nerazzurri are investing the €115m pocketed from Chelsea for the sale of Romelu Lukaku to bolster a different area of the team and not just their strikers.

Dumfries has two goals in 23 senior caps for the Netherlands, while last season he found the net four times and provided nine assists in 41 competitive appearances for PSV Eindhoven.
