Inter technical director Marco Branca expects Andrea Ranocchia to be the club's last January signing.

Inter technical director Marco Branca expects Andrea Ranocchia to be the club's last January signing.

The international joined the Italian champions at the start of this month from Genoa, who co-owned him with the Nerazzurri, as cover for the injured Walter Samuel.

And after Thursday's impressive 3-1 win over Napoli, Branca feels new boss Leonardo has the players available to him that can re-launch their title hopes.

“We feel as if we are a very competitive side,” Branca, a former Serie A striker, insisted. “We're hoping that we don't need to sign anyone else.”

The transfer rumour mill has suggested that the Nerazzurri are looking for a new striker, a claim Branca denies.

“We have Samuel Eto'o, Diego Milito and Goran Pandev,” he added. “Then there are all of the midfielders that we have who offer their support in attack.”

That last point was highlighted on Thursday when Thiago Motta grabbed a brace and Esteban Cambiasso also scored as Serie A resumed after the Christmas break.
