La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Mehdi Taremi has given ‘his priority’ to Inter ahead of a free transfer over the summer.

Taremi’s contract with Porto expires at the end of the season and the Nerazzurri have been in talks with his entourage for several weeks.

According to Gazzetta, the experienced Iran international has prioritised a move to Inter in 2024-25 and has already informed Porto that he won’t extend his contract, which expires at the end of the season.

The report claims Taremi’s purchase will be slightly more expensive than Inter had initially planned as the Italian government scrapped the Growth Decree in the meantime. The Nerazzurri will have to pay circa €1.8m per are still expected to finalise the deal.

Taremi was in talks with both Milan and Inter last summer and according to Gazzetta, he has rejected a move to the Saudi Pro League, favouring the Nerazzurri option.

As things stand, Inter are also in pole position to sign Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski next season.

The Poland international has reportedly reached a principle of agreement with the Nerazzurri and is expected to move to the Stadio Meazza on a free transfer as his current deal at the Stadio Maradona runs out at the end of the season.

Sky Sport Italia confirms Inter are in advanced talks to sign both Taremi and Zielinski in June.
