Inter are edging closer to signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan but Roma are still hopeful they can extend his contract, according to reports in Italy.
Recent reports had suggested a move to the Nerazzurri was effectively done and the Armenia forward.
However, Gazzetta dello Sport claim that, while that is still likely the case, Roma have not given up hope and have more or less matched Inter’s offer.
The Nerazzurri’s offer, according to the report, have made an offer of €3.5 million over two years which includes easily attainable bonuses.
Roma have matched that offer but the second year would see a pay decrease should certain objectives not be met in the 2022-23 season.
Inter can offer Mkhitaryan Champions League football and a realistic bid to win the Scudetto while Roma believe their desire to keep him and the love received following their Europa Conference League could be enough to persuade him to stay.
Mkhitaryan joined Roma from Arsenal in September 2020.

Can this insanity finally stop? Inter doesn’t need this player and Roma does. Please, with sugar on top, take the new deal at Trigoria.
without mikitaryan roma is toast because rest the players in roma are not good enough roma is small club compare to inter
mikitaryan is the best player in roma team
roma sucks without mikimtaryan. they don’t have any good players at all we saw what happened to roma when mice was injured they are nothing they should pay him any money that he wants
