Inter CEO Alessandro Antonello confirms signing Romelu Lukaku back from Chelsea ‘is a priority’ after selling Marcelo Brozovic to Al-Nassr.

The director spoke to reporters as he left the Lega Serie A meeting and was asked if Lukaku was a priority.

“Yes he is, Beppe Marotta is taking care of it,” was his reply.

The only other comment was that they are “working on” a new shirt sponsor for the 2023-24 season.

Lukaku recently turned 30 and has made it abundantly clear he only wants to play for the Nerazzurri, even turning down an immensely lucrative contract in the Saudi Pro League.

He was sold to Chelsea for €113m in the summer of 2021 and returned on loan a year later for circa €8m plus bonuses.

The Premier League side has refused to let him renew the loan, so Inter are said to be discussing a permanent deal, setting their price at no more than €50m.

This is because Marotta claimed on Sky Sport Italia that the Saudi club had agreed a €50m fee with Chelsea for Lukaku.

It would be a loan with obligation to buy, allowing the Nerazzurri to spread the payment out over several years.
