It’s reported that if Inter do pocket €130m from Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku, their budget to find his replacement is just €35m, making the favourite Edin Dzeko of Roma.

This would vastly limit their options and is among the reasons coach Simone Inzaghi, directors Piero Ausilio and Beppe Marotta are so angry.

The fans are also openly blaming President Steven Zhang for the situation, having already lost Achraf Hakimi to PSG and seen coach Antonio Conte walk away due to the downgrade in ambitions.

According to FCInternews.it, if Lukaku does leave for €130m, only €35m will be set aside to find a new striker.

That would rule out not only Fiorentina forward Dusan Vlahovic, but also Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata, as La Dea want €40-50m for the Colombia international.

The most likely candidate at that point would be Edin Dzeko, who is no longer first choice at Roma, losing his spot to Borja Mayoral.

The 35-year-old Bosnia international would be available for circa €12m, as his contract only runs to June 2022, and he has been repeatedly on the verge of a move to Inter or Juventus in recent years.
