Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic has tested positive for coronavirus during international duty with Croatia.

Domagoj Vida took to the pitch while positive for COVID-19 and the fear of possible infections has turned into reality.

The Croatia defender was informed he tested positive after playing the first half against Turkey on Wednesday and was brought off after the initial 45 minutes.

The 31-year-old was isolated, but Croatia has confirmed Brozovic has now tested positive.

“The test results showed two positive results, for the national team member Marcelo Brozovic and a staff member of the national team,” a statement read.

“Both were immediately isolated from the other members of the national team. Inter were informed of the positive test.”
