Representatives from Argentine Primera Division side Independiente Rivadavia have arrived in the city of Milan to hold talks with Inter over the sale of talented young defender Tomas Palacios.

Inter hold in-person talks for Palacios

Inter are hoping to add the 21-year-old centre back to their ranks this summer. A tall, left-footed defender, he has already drawn comparisons to Italy international Alessandro Bastoni.

The regining Serie A champions hope he can emulate the success of Yann Aurel Bisseck, who arrived on a low-cost transfer last summer and is now starting for the first team under Simone Inzaghi.

According to recent reports, the Nerazzurri are hoping to finalise a deal for a figure in the region of €6.5m, including bonuses.

Gianluca Di Marzio suggests that there is still some difference in valuations, but that is why directors from Palacios’s current club have come to the city, to try and come to a formal agreement. Palacios is reportedly keen to move to Europe and join Inter.

Independiente Rivadavia sporting director Sebastian Peratta is on the ground in Italy to discuss the deal, as is Agustin Vila, son of the club’s President Daniel Vila.
