However, it’s widely rumoured that City are irritated at Milan’s refusal to make the buy-out clause mandatory at the end of the season and even then offer only €24m.
This has allowed Inter to fly ahead in the race and director Marco Branca is set to fly back to England on Monday for further negotiations.
The Nerazzurri are proposing a mandatory buy-out worth €27m at the end of the season, which is only €3m away from City’s asking price.
“Tevez is not an Inter player, despite the newspaper talk,” said assistant manager Beppe Baresi.
“This is our squad, then we’ll see, as there is a long way to go before the transfer window closes. Tevez is an important player who has had a great career and possesses real character.”
Meanwhile, President Massimo Moratti was asked about the Tevez reports ahead of last night’s 5-0 win over Parma.
