Inter striker Marko Arnautovic is back in training slightly ahead of schedule and could be in line to return to the matchday squad when the Nerazzurri travel to Udine in Serie A on Sunday.

Sky Sport Italia and Calciomercato.com suggest that Arnautovic is in contention to feature against Udinese at the weekend.

The 34-year-old has missed both of Inter’s last two Serie A matches, a 2-0 win over Empoli and a 1-1 draw against Napoli, which fell either side of the recent international break. He was also left out of the Austria national team squad for friendlies against Turkey and Slovakia in March.

In other Inter injury news, Juan Cuadrado is also nearing a return from an achilles tendon injury which has kept him out since the end of September.

Sefan De Vrij is also expected to rejoin the group for training either on Friday or Saturday according to Thursday’s updates. The Udinese match is likely one too soon for a return to competitive action, though.
