Inter have lodged an appeal with CONI regarding the postponed Serie A match against Bologna.

The match between the Rossoblu and the Nerazzurri was originally supposed to be played on January 6 but was called off due to a serious COVID outbreak in Sinisa Mihajlovic’s squad. The Milanese club wanted to be awarded a default 3-0 win because Bologna failed to show up, but instead the decision came that the match would be replayed.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Inter have decide to appeal to CONI’s Collegio di Garanzia in a quest to receive a default win. They had already contested the decision with the Federal Court of Appeal, but it was rejected. Now they’ve taken up the case with the highest level of sporting justice in Italy.

Inter currently sit six points behind Serie A leaders Milan and being awarded a default win would see them sit only three points behind, putting them hot on their rivals’ tails.

  1. Robber club!!!

This is what inter can only do to get their ambitions when they can not match another clubs power and dominance, just like the past….

  2. The way inter is playing, this might actually be the only way they can get a win for the rest of the season.

  3. Now that they can’t get the wins on the pitch, they’re after free points off of it. Hilarious.

  4. If Bologna made a mistake by submitting the lineup then not showing up they should be rightfully punished if the rules say so, regardless of what bitter rubentini or bbilanisti desperate for a Scudetto think

  5. @Ale

The past? Inter are the Champions of Italy in case you were in a coma last season. Inter are the last Serie A club to win in Europe.

  6. @Francesco, just play the match! Be a man about it! I’m only desperate to hear some kind of explanation for the penalty not given to Torino. Heard none..

    @Milanwizz

How about Milan play a midweek match in the Runup to the season finale and not awarded a default win after travelling and stayed on the pitch till half time?

  8. Last season when Napoli didn’t show up to face Juventus in Turin the game was replayed. Why should this be different? Sneaky club

  9. @Milanwizz

You think Inter fear Bologna? Inter put 6 past Bologna this season. But if Bologna broke a rule, they should be penalised. Personally I prefer Inter play the game and beat Bologna which is the norm anyhow. As for Belotti, he used his hand anyhow before the foul.

The past? Inter are the Champions of Italy in case you were in a coma last season. Inter are the last Serie A club to win in Europe, too. And the only Treble winners in Serie A history. Focus on your Serie B club instead.

  11. The precedent was set last year, replay the game, but……………..begging for a win because the Coach filled out a lineup card…………is that as ridiculous and cowardly as it sounds?!?

  12. @Marco Milan

Roma lost a match to Verona last season because of a technicality like that. Don’t see people blaming Verona for getting 3 points

  13. What if it was the opposite? If Inter were the team that did the no show yet submitted a line up, and Bologna appealed. Pretty sure the impartial Milanisti and juventuni would be here crying and screaming for Inter to lose 3-0 by default. So don’t pretend to care about justice or fairness please…

  14. At first I thought it was tactic to delay the match but maybe there might be something that indicate Bologna made an error in handling the situation. It happened at the middle of the pandemic where rules were very clear to make sure teams don’t avoid matches.

  15. Now they’ve taken up the case with the highest level of sporting justice in Italy. Hahahahaha Inter dont want justice, they want to get the points for free. Milan lost 4-5 points to refereeing errors. Inter gained one vs Torino where they obviously would of lost. Now to try and get 3 points true justice. Im laughing so hard. If you get the 3 points im going to start watching epl instead of serie a. Cause if that happens calcio is in similar place to calciopoli.
And @Francesco youre such a litte cry baby, everytime i read a comment from you. I see the whining face of a pouty crying shield not getting its way. I hope to see you here when Inter cant pay wages and are forced out of serie A.

  16. Bologna made a mistake: they have submitted the linup and failed to withdraw it. They did not show up. 3-0 loss, clear case.

  17. @ Forza Moggi (lol the name is comical enough)

Who won on the pitch in 04-05 and 05-06?

    juve with help of refs

Refs are on the pitch too, you know

  18. @Mac and Cheese

Inter have paid the salaries of their players in full. Otherwise the players would be demanding them via authorities like the FA or FIFA but that is not the case, not a single player did that. Stop posting ignorant things and inform yourself. Keep dreaming of Inter being forced out of Serie A, nice fantasy.

  19. @ Mac again

I guess the ref favours Milan got this season against Venezia, Roma (both matches), juve and Inter don’t count? Nice double standards there from a fan of the club that received the most penalties in Europe last season: Milan.
