Inter director Piero Ausilio confirms “we’ll do everything to sign Yaya Toure,” while Mauro Icardi “wants to stay.”

The director of sport spoke to Sky Sport Italia ahead of tonight’s trip to Genoa.

“There is no deadline for Toure. He is an objective and we want him. He’s under contract with Manchester City, but we’ll do everything to bring him to Milan.

“We have been working on Icardi’s renewal for months. We’re taking it slowly because this is an important contract,” said Ausilio.

“We will take the time it needs. We want to extend and improve his contract, while he wants to stay. We are relaxed.”

Goalkeeper Samir Handanovic’s situation is also up in the air, as his contract is due to expire in June 2016.

“The talks never stopped with him and his agent. There’s only a year left on the contract, but we want to keep him. Handanovic can be part of our project whether we qualify for Europe or not.

“It’s only natural he’d want some time to reflect if he receives an offer from a side in the Champions League.”
