Inter are seriously interested in making a move for Udinese talent Lazar Samardzic, who has long been in the sights of Napoli, reports detail.

The Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen their midfield this summer and have identified Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi as their primary target but put that deal on hold to allow them to focus their efforts on Romelu Lukaku.

Inter are continuing to look around for alternatives, aware of the tough competition for the talented Italian midfielder.

Pages four and five of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport detail how Inter have taken a step forward for Samardzic, thinking about using the money made from the sale of Marcelo Brozovic to snap up the Udinese talent.

Napoli have long been interested in Samardzic and are still keen to pick the 21-year-old up this summer, setting up tough competition for the Nerazzurri.

Last season, the Serbian midfielder scored five goals and provided four assists in 37 Serie A appearances.
