Inter are set to hold contract talks with captain and leading goalscorer Lautaro Martinez in Madrid when the team fly out to face Atletico in the Champions League round of 16 second leg on Wednesday evening, according to Tuesday morning’s reports,

Lautaro’s agent Alejandro Camano is expected to be in the Spanish capital for talks with the Nerazzurri later this week according to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Tuesday’s report suggests that both Inter and Lautaro Martinez are keen to renew, although specific terms, including salary and contract length are yet to be decided upon.

Lautaro’s current contract is set to expire in 2026, meaning there isn’t an urgent rush to renew just yet, but the club would like to wrap up their star striker’s future sooner rather than later.

La Gazzetta report that Inter are prepared to offer Lautaro a deal worth €8m per season plus bonuses, although Lautaro is pushing for a figure closer to €10m.

The bonuses included in the contract are set to be an important part of negotiations. With various add-ons included, Lautaro could become the highest paid player in Serie A.
