Inter have finalised the terms of the agreement for Genoa goalkeeper Josep Martinez according to multiple reports in Italy.
Inter agree terms with Genoa for Josep Martinez
The 26-year-old shot stopper, who had previously been linked with a move to Manchester United, is expected to formally complete his move once the Serie A transfer window opens at the beginning of July.
Inter are expected to pay Genoa an upfront fee of €13.5m with an additional €2m in performance-related bonuses for Martinez’s services according to Gianluca Di Marzio and Sky Sport Italia.
The Spanish keeper has already agreed upon personal terms according to reports last week.
Martinez has spent the past two seasons on loan in Italy, arriving at Genoa on an initial loan deal from RB Leipzig for the 2022-23 season. After helping to secure promotion from Serie B, Martinez’s move was made permanent ahead of the 2023-24 campaign, in which he made 36 appearances.
Inter had also been working on a deal for Brazilian goalkeeper Bento, but the club were ultimately unable to agree terms with Atletico Paranaense.
