Lautaro Martinez’s agent confirms they have ‘agreed a deal in principle’ to extend the contract with Inter, but it’s reported Nicolò Barella has also accepted a renewal to 2029.

The Nerazzurri are working through the players who they want to lock down and the striker was the trickiest situation they were dealing with this summer.

It was resolved surprisingly quickly, as the reports of a big gap between wage offer and demand were as recent as this morning, only for Alejandro Camano to confirm they had shaken hands.

“We agreed a deal in principle” to June 2029, Camano told Argentine transfer expert Cesar Luis Merlo.

Most notably, there is no release clause in the contract, confirming his commitment to the club.

Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and Fabrizio Romano also now suggest that midfielder Barella has agreed a new contract with Inter too.

He had been linked with proposals from the Premier League, above all Liverpool and Manchester United, but has no intention of leaving the Nerazzurri.
