The 30-man provisional Italy squad is in pre-tournament preparation at the Coverciano training ground before being whittled down to 23 going to Brazil.
“Lorenzo is working well and I am confident, as he can certainly compete on a par with the other players,” agent Fabio Andreotti told Radio Marte.
“The only thing that remains to be seen is which tactical system Prandelli will use. Mind you, Lorenzo has already shown his great versatility this season.”
Coach Prandelli has stated he’s interested in the ‘False 9’ system with no genuine centre-forward, therefore giving opposition defences few reference points.
Insigne has played in numerous different attacking roles and spent most of the season at Napoli wide in a trio supporting Gonzalo Higuain.
He is one of those battling to earn their place in the final list of 23.
