Lorenzo Insigne would relish a Pescara reunion with Ciro Immobile and Marco Verratti for Italy. “We understand each other with a glance.”

Insigne shot to fame at Pescara in Serie B under Coach Zdenek Zeman, where he played alongside current Italy talents Verratti and Immobile.

“Zeman taught us all so much and we cannot forget what he gave to us. Ciro, Marco and I all owe almost everything to Zeman.

“You never forget his tactical movements and when we step on to the field it will be an extra weapon.”

Insigne scored twice in Sunday’s 5-3 friendly victory over Fluminense, while Immobile bagged a hat-trick.

“We are both Neapolitan, we know each other well and had a fantastic season together at Pescara as well as playing for the Italy Under-21 side.

“Even though we haven’t played together at club level for two years, we still need just a glance to understand each other.

“Could we play together for Italy? Anything is possible. We are at the disposal of the Coach. It’s only natural that Ciro, Marco and I would like to play together, because we have always played together, but we respect the decisions of the Coach.”

They have all gone their separate ways, as Insigne returned to hometown club Napoli, Immobile is heading to Borussia Dortmund and Verratti found success at Paris Saint-Germain.

“Italy has always been a country where young players took a while to break through, but in recent years there are more talents making their mark, as clubs and Coaches are putting more faith in them.”

Insigne commented on his emotional state going into his first major international tournament.

“I am more excited than under pressure. I am young and it’s my first World Cup, so it’s understandable. For now I don’t feel any pressure, as I am relaxed, working well and hope to repay the faith that the Coach has in me.”

The Azzurri will play their opening World Cup game on Saturday night against England in the rainforest environment of Manaus.

“We have no fear, as we worked on the conditions at Coverciano in the ‘Manaus Hut.’ We will be focused only on giving our best,” said the Napoli striker in a Press conference.

Italy constructed a sauna at their training ground near Florence to replicate the humidity and heat of the Brazilian environment.
