Lorenzo Insigne is working hard to end his season on a high note in a crucial period for both Napoli and the Italian national team.

The 30-year-old Italian winger is not having a simple season in Campania, experiencing inconsistent form following an intense few months. The news that the Napoli captain would be joining Toronto FC on a free transfer in the summer saw the player become the hottest topic in Serie A for a number of weeks and his lacklustre performances led many to suggest that he was distracted.

Whilst Insigne has scored seven goals for Napoli in Serie A this season, only one of these has come in open play, with the rest being penalties. The Italian winger is desperate to end his time with Napoli on a high and so he’s working hard to be at his best for the final nine league games of his career.

Luciano Spalletti’s side are still firmly involved in the title race alongside Milan and Inter. Securing the Partenopei’s third ever Scudetto would be the perfect way for Insigne to bow out, but first he needs to prepare for some key Azzurri clashes.

Roberto Mancini needs Insigne to be on top form in Italy’s key World Cup play-offs which kick off next week. The Azzurri will face North Macedonia before playing the winner of Portugal-Turkey. Considering his impact at Euro 2020 last summer, it’s important Insigne starts to work his magic once again.

  1. Insigne will shine as he did in Euro wearing the #10. Hopefully he can carry them to WC victory and will shut the insigne haters once and for all. Mancini will get the most out of him where ADL has gotten the minimum out if him as he has done with napoli as a team.
