Lorenzo Insigne has insisted that Napoli are focusing purely on winning the Scudetto this term.

The Partenopei finished third last term to qualify for the Champions League, but the striker has claimed that the team’s efforts this season are going into domestic success.

“We are all working together, integrating the new lads and focusing on winning the League,” he told a Press conference.

“It’s too early to say whether we are better than last season, but there’s definitely a different mindset around the group.

“Personally, my goals are to score as many possible, improve under the Coach’s guidance, and try to win something important for the fans.

“I don’t know if the Coach wants to change [systems] this season, but I’ve always been happy in a 4-3-3. I have to sacrifice myself out wide, but I’m happy to do that.

“I’m sure some of the new players will help us improve, but there’s also a lot of young lads coming through, which is really exciting.

“We’re in a great place at the moment. We struggled to compete with Juve and Roma last time, but I don’t think that will be the case this season.”

The youngster then commented on what he hopes the team will do in Europe this time.

“We want to do well in the Champions League, obviously, but I think winning the League is achievable and will bring great joy to the fans.”
