“The Number 10 jersey is untouchable and was worn by the best player in the world, so it’s only right that it remains empty. However, I do feel it is mine in a way,” the local lad told Sky Sport Italia.

“I have always dreamed of playing for Napoli and want to achieve so much in this shirt. I am still young, but am focused only on the present. I’ll try to earn my place in the Nazionale by doing well for Napoli.”
This summer Insigne has been on sparkling form in the new role behind the strikers, revealing he asked Coach Sarri for this chance.
“It’s not as if I had trouble with Rafa Benitez, but Sarri really knows about football. He’s a great Coach and we are training very hard, following all of his suggestions.
“I said I was available to play behind the strikers because it is a role I had as a youngster before being moved out wide and it is the position I prefer.”
Gonzalo Higuain had a difficult last few months, missing crucial penalties for Napoli and Argentina.
“Higuain will not leave Napoli and with his help we want to win something important,” continued Insigne.
“We missed Pepe Reina last season. He keeps the locker room united and is so important, as he won so much and we youngsters always follow his example.”
Napoli play their first international friendly of the season tonight against OGC Nice.
Marek Hamsik, Higuain, Reina and Ivan Strinic are unavailable.
