Lorenzo Insigne and Mario Rui are expected to miss Napoli’s UEFA Europa League trip to Leicester City on Thursday.
The Partenopei have had an excellent start to their Serie A season, winning all three games so far under coach Luciano Spalletti, including Saturday’s 2-1 comeback victory over Juventus.
Insigne went off during the game, having been in doubt beforehand with a bruised knee.
According to the latest reports, the captain did not train yesterday or this morning, only working in the gym or undergoing physiotherapy.
The same goes for left-back Mario Rui.
It is considered to be unlikely that either of them will make the trip to England for Thursday’s Europa League opener against Leicester City.
Radio Kiss Kiss, the official Napoli station, is more optimistic and believes a decision will be made with Insigne after some tests tomorrow morning.
Napoli are already missing Diego Demme, Alex Meret, Dries Mertens, Faouzi Ghoulam and Stanislav Lobotka.
