Injury concerns continue to mount for Roberto Mancini and the Italy squad, as Moise Kean, Salvatore Sirigu and Jorginho have new issues.

The Azzurri will play the Finalissima against Argentina on June 1 at Wembley, followed by four Nations League matches with Germany, England and Hungary.

The Roma players joined the group at the Coverciano training ground today, having been given several days off to recover from the Conference League Final.

They did not work with the rest of the squad today, only doing cool-down muscular exercises.

Gianluca Caprari and Marco Verratti are still on personalised routines after already having problems yesterday.

Jorginho was rested as a precaution, while Kean and Sirigu interrupted the training session this afternoon due to injuries.

The Juventus striker and the Genoa goalkeeper will have to be evaluated by the medical staff.

It is another blow for Mancini, who already lost Ciro Immobile, Domenico Berardi and Andrea Pinamonti.

  1. Again a plethora of “injuries” before critical matches just like in qualifying against the supposed minnows of North Macedonia , seems like these players aren’t truly committed to representing their National team like other countries who would sacrifice anything to wear their countries jerseys!

  2. Great news Jorginho’s time with the azzurri should be up now anyway – funny how injuries force Mancini’s hand (immobile also) as opposed to him have the courage to drop these players.

Tonali Locatelli can both be superior options to Jorginho, with Barella, verratti, pellegrini, frattesi and a growing list of other young midfield talents, who needs Jorginho. They negatives out way the positives. He takes penalties and that doesn’t even guarantee successful outcomes.

  3. Jorginho should never be considered after missing two of the most important penalties. Can’t stand him.

  4. Maybe this is the only way Mancini will pick new players and find out how good they are instead of the same oldfaces

  5. Jorginho played excellent football in the FA Cup final. He is now far better than Tonali and Locatelli. The only problem is that he missed two crucial PKs. His position can only be replaced by Ricci, not Tonali or Locatelli. Unfortunately, Ricci is not ready.

I think that Mancini more or less chooses in this group of forwards:

Insigne, Immobile, Pedro, Caprari, Belotti, Berardi, Bernardeschi, Politano, Scamacca, Pinamonti, Chiesa, Kean, Raspadori, El Shaarawy.

    Balotelli is out.

  7. Incredible how all these senior players are injured while the juniors azzurrini remain intact..that we know of. Mental/ psychology perhaps..?
