It is only pre-season, but injury problems are already piling up for Roma, Torino and Bologna, including a potential fracture for Gianluca Mancini.

The Serie A campaign is due to kick off on the weekend of August 20 and teams are playing their preparation friendlies to get into shape.

Not everything is going to plan, as the Corriere dello Sport notes Roma defender Mancini was spotted in training wearing a protective face mask.

He had a clash of heads during yesterday’s match against Braga and there is a suspected fracture to his nose, making it unlikely he’ll be risked against Estrela on Saturday.

Elsewhere in Serie A, Torino are no strangers to an injury crisis and are getting started early with a series of problems.

Goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic is having tests for a muscular issue, while Yann Karamoh is also on the treatment table after a knee sprain and today Pietro Pellegri had a knock to the right fibula.

Bologna coach Thiago Motta is forced to do without defender Stefan Posch, who fractured the fifth metacarpal bone in his right hand.

Riccardo Orsolini has been dealing with a tendonitis problem for a couple of weeks already and today Musa Barrow sprained his ankle in training.
