New Juventus striker Kaio Jorge has sustained a muscle injury and, according to reports in Italy, he will remain out of action for a month.

The Brazilian forward was on the bench in the Bianconeri’s opening Serie A game against Udinese yesterday.

The former Santos man picked up an injury during today’s training session and underwent medical examinations at the J Medical.

“Due to a muscle problem reported at the end of today’s training session, Kaio Jorge underwent diagnostic tests at J | Medical which revealed a medium-grade lesion of the rectus femoris of the left thigh,” Juventus official statement read.

“In 10 days, he will undergo new exams to define his recovery period.”

However, according to the Italian broadcasters, it usually takes up to 30 days to recover from such injuries, so the Brazilian could potentially miss five Serie A games, including those against Napoli and Milan, on September 12 and 19, respectively.

Kaio Jorge has joined Juventus from Santos on a permanent €3m deal and Juventus announced his signing last week.
