Inter star Marcelo Brozovic could remain out of action for a month after sustaining an injury while on international duty.

The Croatia international limped off the pitch yesterday during his national team’s clash against Austday.

According to Gazzetta, he will undergo medical examinations today, but Inter expect their midfield star to remain out of action for three to four weeks.

Brozovic is feared to have suffered a flexor injury.

The 29-year-old is expected to return to Italy tomorrow after undergoing exams in Croatia. Coach Zlatko Dalic has confirmed that Brozovic could remain out of action for a month.

If the diagnosis is confirmed, Brozovic will return to action at the end of October. According to Gazzetta, the midfielder won’t rush his return to the pitch to avoid missing out on the World Cup, which begins on November 20.

Brozovic is one of Inter’s key players and has scored two goals in nine appearances across all competitions this season.
