Parma forward Roberto Inglese was back after almost six months out and helped the Gialloblu pick up a point in the 2-2 game against Bologna. ‘I’m happy to have returned in this manner’.

Inglese capped off his return by securing a draw in the 92nd minute of the match and spoke about his difficult period and the happy return after the final whistle.

“It was the toughest period of my career, if not my life,” he told Parma’s official website. “It was six long months but eventually there was a happy ending and I’m happy to have returned in this manner and contributed to my team.

“My teammates are happy, because they have been close to me. It hasn’t been easy, but I have not given up and I deserved it.”

Inglese revealed he wasn’t supposed to have played the match against the Rossoblu.

“We were waiting for the last consultation in Finland, but the borders were closed. Me and the coach looked each other in the eyes and said it was time, that there was no point in waiting.

“We came from a difficult period and it’s not easy playing every three days. We faced a strong side that pushed us down. Now, we are happy to have put this period behind us and we are trying to start again from today.

“Meanwhile, I’m happy to be back, now let’s take day by day and see what we are capable of doing. In full, we are a great team."
