“My Italian heart is torn by the images of terrible suffering that describe the mourning affecting the families of our country,” he told news agency ANSA. “Today, we must think of bringing relief to those who suffer, we must follow the rules.
According to ANSA, the FIFA President has encouraged everyone to ‘follow the guidelines of the scientific authorities’, to help fight the spread of the highly infectious disease.
“The time for football will return and when it returns,” he added. “We will celebrate the recovery from a nightmare together.”
