Milan President Paolo Scaroni has ‘no words to describe what Paolo Maldini represents’ as the club prepare to unveil him on Monday.
Maldini will be presented as Milan’s new strategic development director at 15:30 CET, the former Italy defender returning to San Siro nine years after he called time on his legendary playing career.
“There are no words to describe what Paolo Maldini represents for Milan,” Scaroni told the club’s official website.

“It was a privilege to see him play and win countless trophies on the field. I’m happy and honoured to work with him in this new role.
“Paolo’s leadership and experience will greatly benefit the club, as will his passion and energy.
“Today’s appointment is a further sign of Elliott’s commitment to building a solid foundation for long-term success.
“It won’t be easy and it will take time, but we have ambitious objectives and Paolo’s arrival is an important step towards our return to the great Milan.”
