Lazio captain Ciro Immobile has become the third-fastest player in history to reach 200 Serie A career goals, achieving it in 341 games.

The veteran striker found the back of the net during his team’s trip to Cagliari this afternoon, beating Simone Scuffet from a tight angle.

That allowed him to mark 200 Serie A goals throughout his career and he did it in only 341 appearances.

It makes him the third-fasted forward to reach this landmark, slower only than Giuseppe Meazza with 296 games and Gunnar Nordahl in 238.

Immobile got there quicker than Silvio Piola’s 363 matches, Antonio Di Natale’s 400, Jose Altafini on 407, Roberto Baggio 443 and Francesco Totti on 466.

These are the only eight players to have achieved the feat of 200 goals in the Italian top flight.

The 33-year-old has made 258 Serie A appearances for Lazio, 47 for Torino, 33 at Genoa and 3 at Juventus.

Of his 200 goals, 168 came for the Biancocelesti, 27 in the Granata jersey and five for Genoa.
