Lazio captain Ciro Immobile could make the switch to Napoli in the summer as part of a swap deal involving Giovanni Simeone, local reports detail.

The 34-year-old Italian striker has come under increasing pressure in the Italian capital this season due to his poor form and struggles with fitness, managing just six goals and one assist in 1504 minutes of action across 27 Serie A games, far below his usual goalscoring standards.

Igor Tudor has taken over at Lazio following last month’s shock resignation of Maurizio Sarri. The Croatian coach has already made it clear that all players in the squad will be evaluated ahead of the summer, further increasing the pressure on Immobile.

Immobile to Napoli?

As reported by Il Mattino via TMW, Tudor’s Lazio are looking to pick up Simeone in the summer and an idea has started brewing involving a swap deal with Napoli involving Immobile, whose future in the Italian capital is still shrouded in doubt.

The Partenopei are looking for a new striker in the summer, especially with Victor Osimhen expected to leave, and the Lazio captain could be a convincing low-cost option. Other ideas for now include Sassuolo’s Armand Lauriente and Andrea Pinamonti.

  1. Ungrateful Lazio supporters as always. Immobile is, like what 33 or 34 yo now? Obviously his prime is coming to an end, and without his Serie A goals, Lazio woulda been a relegation battling club. Show some gratitude !!!
