Giovanni Trapattoni is confident that Ciro Immobile can do well in the Bundesliga, following his move to Borussia Dortmund.

The Italian youngster left Torino for the Signal Iduna Park outfit this summer, replacing the outgoing Robert Lewandowski.

And the veteran Coach, who won the German title as Bayern Munich boss in 1997, believes that Immobile can flourish.

“You can’t really make comparisons,” he told Bild. “Lewandowski is Lewandowski and Immobile is Immobile.

“But Ciro is a smart player who’s cold in front of goal.

“Dortmund are on track to be one of the best clubs in Europe, and I’m sure Immobile will help them do that.

“I don’t think he’s fully developed yet, but I know that he will grow in Dortmund under Kloop, who is one of the best around.”
