Milan launched their new jerseys for the 2022-23 campaign and Monday and one of the main talking points on social media was the absence of Scudetto patch.
Serie A-title holders wear a patch on the centre of their jerseys with the colours of the Italian flag denoting they are the reigning champions but none was present among Olivier Giroud, Rafael Leao and co.
The explanation is quite simple, though. Despite the new agreement with Puma only being made public in recent weeks, the images were shot during last season – before Milan ended their 11-year title drought on the final day of the campaign.
